Family Photoshoot With Inessa Studio

For the last one year or so I've been doing a few photoshoots for the different milestones of my 2nd pregnancy. When I had my first born Fayth, Hubs and I did an underwater maternity shoot b'cuz as a FTM (First Time Mom) and the adventurous me I wanted something different and not the usual studio shoot. After that we didn't do any other shoots b'cuz being a practical Mom I just thought "oh no need lah save money". But having my second baby was a different thing already. First I did an EDD Group Shoot with June 2017 Mummy friends b'cuz I thought it was fun and I never really participated in such group events when I had Fayth. Then I wanted the conventional Studio Maternity Shoot since my first was a very unique one already. After Baby H. was born, I told Hubs I wanted to do a Newborn Shoot with/for her b'cuz Fayth had a 1 yo shoot so lets do a NB one for Baby H. Actually deep down inside me I know how much I miss NBs and I do not know.

All the shoots done for my 2nd pregnancy so far has been with Inessa Studio. We started with them since the organiser for my EDD shoot picked Inessa Studio to work with, so naturally from there we carried on with them. Their prices were also affordable and I was quite comfortable with the photographer, Haru. This time again I took my entire little family for a family shoot at Inessa Studio and I'm having this little photo journal on my blog as my online photobook as well as share them with you guys. Hope you like them as much as we do! (P.s. another photographer Steve, did the Newborn & now the family shoot for us).

To be honest our shoot was a disaster firstly b'cuz we were rushing the entire day as it was the day we celebrated Fayth's birthday. Already there were tons of errands to run and we were so in a rush, Fayth had to be a HUGE mischief during the shoot and refused to take instructions - gosh!! (*slaps forehead*) Having a 2 year old toddler who's super active to take a group photoshoot was really challenging! I've ever brought her out for paid shoots before and it was a breeze, guess she listens to Mummy. But when Hubs was around for our family shoot, she totally just went crazy.

But having said, thankfully the photos turned out well.. Hubs & I liked them 'cuz they're really natural. Lots of the shots were more like candids showing us having fun. It was a disaster only b'cuz we prepared 2 sets of family wear but only managed to shoot in one. B'cuz after all of us had to wait for Fayth in between the shoot, Baby H. couldn't take the wait and burst out into cranky mode. Yea, so that was the story of our first family shoot. Haha...

Hahaha, look at Baby H's face. She's like "eh get me out of here"! Actually after having this experience, I'll say do the family shoot when your infant can sit on his/her own. Probably then you'd get to have more variations in the poses or positioning. B'cuz she can't sit on her own now, all the photos are either me carrying her sitting or standing.

Love how Hubs & Fayth look like here, super natural - just like how they always look like enjoying play time together. Steve was very good with directing, esp with kids. Just too bad this Fayth was just a stubborn one who refused to take directions. (*faint*) So at the very least b'cuz Steve did a great job directing and using other methods to get her to laugh and play, we managed to get some natural & happy shots.

But of course all can't be perfect. So since we've only had one theme of photos to choose from, a few were probably less perfect. But that is okay.

Baby H.: "Whatcha lookin' at"?

My mischievous girl.

While Fayth was being difficult at certain times during the shoot, Hubs took a break and I carried on with Baby H. and we managed to get a really cute photo of her chubbs face smiling. MAD LOVE!!!
#photolockscreenworthy Haha.

My blur toot toot baby girl, she was sleepy and cranky by then.

I only managed to change Baby H. into the 2nd family wear and before the rest of us had time to change, she totally burst into cranky mode. Steve managed to capture just this one shot of her before everything ended. I was supposed to let her wear a matching white bow headband with Mummy but then didn't get a chance to, she look like a boy here. AHA!

And that's all of our family shoot photos... If you're wondering where to get family wear, I got them at Moley Apparels. (#notsponsored) It was a very last minute thing that we decided on getting family wear b'cuz I totally overlooked or thought it wasn't necessary until the Hubs brought it up. So out of time & convenience we went to Jurong Point which was across the road from our place to try grab 2 sets that we can. So tah-dah, we got them in a jiffy 'cuz they had lots of designs to choose from. The only down side is that the Family sets were limited and so were the Mummy and Infant Baby matching sets. So we ended up with something I liked and Hubs got something to match in colour/theme instead. 'Cuz I rem the family set only came in 2 designs and I wouldn't wear them again so I'd rather get something I like instead to match with the girls and we can keep wearing them. Guess that works as well. Price wise, affordable.. it ranges from $20-$30+ and they also have store discounts. Hubs bought one of the Tees for $15 ish after discount? Cheap!

So that's all for today and I hope you liked my short photo sharing session. Do feel free to leave comments in the comment box below if you have any question/s regarding the topic and I'll try my best to answer them if it's not already stated in my blog above. And that's all for today, bye~! ; )

Beauty Review_One-Stop Beauty Heaven At Skinz Heritage_IPL & Slimming Treatments

Hi everyone! I'm finally back on my blog after 2 weeks of MIA-ing b'cuz I've been really really busy with my fitness classes, blogger commitments as well as Mummy duties. For those of you who don't know me yet, Hello to you.. *waving*! I am a Mummy blogger to 2 beautiful girls and I teach Pre & Postnatal Aerobics. With such a hectic schedule I usually like to plan my appointments back-to-back hoping to save time. Moms you would understand me b'cuz some of us wouldn't even have any time to even get ourselves groomed at all, right? So of course when I found out that Skinz Heritage could provide me with a one-stop solution to all my beauty needs, that totally rocked my world.

Skinz Heritage is located in the heart of Orchard Road and they are also one of the few beauty salons in Singapore that provides customised treatments by using both Traditional Chinese Medicine methods as well as the use of latest machines and high end beauty products formulated in USA.

When I first got to Skinz Heritage the beauty salon felt really cosy on a weekday afternoon. I guess that's probably b'cuz I chose a day and time particularly to avoid all the town crowd which I'd normally prefer. The staff was friendly and greeted me with a warm smile and red date tea was served to accompany while she did a consultation to find out & understand my needs. We spent some time chatting about my problem areas and I was recommended an Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Treatment for my hairy arms & legs followed by the Anti-Cellulite Slimming Treatment to help my postpartum body get back in shape.

See this was what I meant by cosy. A nice sized room with the warm and private feeling. So nice & relaxing for me to get my treatments done when Mummy duties are off. Was there for both treatments like for a good 4 hours? I even had the time to do my 'Moo Duties' expressing breast milk in the room privately. Thanks for the extra service provided!

Since I booked my slot in advance I got the Queen treatment of getting my IPL done by 2 very friendly and professional staff - super pampered can!

OMG look at my VERY hairy arm and leg! AGhhhh!?! The above was my arm before the IPL treatment and the bottom was my calve. I did EPL (Energy Pulse Light) Treatment 2 years ago at some other beauty salon but the hairs were never gone permanently, don't ask me why.. I did hear that the hormones during our pregnancy stimulates hair growth? I have no idea!? Anyway the previous EPL treatments did lessen the growth on my thighs and calves but my arms were still as hairy. I couldn't do any light treatment during pregnancy so this time continuing with a new series of IPL treatments postpartum! Hairs be gone!!

Procedures Of The Treatment

First the hairs were removed by shaving, then a light device used to emit light onto the areas to be treated, and finally ending with a mask which helps to sooth the skin & promote whitening. The treatment itself was painless but felt warm on certain areas. I think the higher the light power is turned on to the more you'd be able to feel so it really depends on how much hair and how much light you'd need.

How Long Does Each Session Take?
Typically for upper lip or chin, only 5 minutes is needed. Underarms usually takes 10-15 minutes. And for arms/legs, it can take from 20-40 minutes.
Suitable For
Anyone who desires to have hair-free and smooth skin. Sorry preggy Mummies, you'd only be able to do this after delivery. And its definitely safe for breastfeeding Moms!

After completing my IPL Treatment, I was treated to a nice belly massage using accupoint techniques to help soften the collection of fat in the area. The massage was a good 10 minutes using anti-cellulite oils to go over my belly helping to break down the stubborn pregnancy belly fats which I still had even at 4 months postpartum. The treatment was relaxing and painless I almost fell asleep!

Benefits Of Accupoints Massage
  • soften stubborn fats thus promoting easier fat loss
  • ease menstrual pain
  • helps the womb to shrink in size (for postpartum Mummies)
  • promotes healthy digestive system

To end of the slimming treatment, a hard clay mask was applied on my belly. The mask gave off a warming sensation in the beginning then cooled down to a hard cast which was fun for me to feel. (Okay that's not the point, but it was nice to touch.. hahaha)... The warmth from the mask was really comfortable I felt really good during the treatment.

Suitable For
Anyone who desires to have cellulite-free and firmer skin. The treatment is usually performed on the belly, hips and thigh areas. Again this treatment is suitable for breastfeeding Moms, preggy Mummies be good.. You can pamper yourself after baby is out!

For both the IPL & Anti-Cellulite Slimming Treatments, a good 8-10 sessions will be minimally best for effective results. But of course the results are subjected to individual, depending on the amount of hairs you have or the fats you have. The more (hairs/fats) you have the more treatments you'd probably require.

So do drop by Skinz Heritage if these treatments are something you'd like to try out, b'cuz Skinz Heritage is holding a special promotion only for my readers!! Hehe.

 Promo code alert!
Quote "Vanny" for the ULTIMATE PROMO of $28 for each of the following treatment (NOT limiting to 1 treatment only), *T&Cs apply:

Beauty Brand Review Part 2_SkinCeuticals_The Best Antioxidant Skincare Brand

Hi lovelies, if you remembered months back I shared about this top-notch skincare brand, SkinCeuticals, which is a brand that carries advanced skincare products backed by science and their mission is to help improve skin health. Their skincare products are made in USA and are clinically proven to perform and deliver results. If you haven’t heard of SkinCeuticals are wondering why their products are so effective, that’s because SkinCeuticals’ products are formulated by scientists after years of skin research. SkinCeuticals’ products are also mainly used by dermatologists, aesthetic doctors and media-spas for daily homecare purposes as well as to complement aesthetics procedures.

Today I would like to share more about SkinCeuticals' best-selling products from the antioxidant skincare range.

Let me introduce you to 5 products in their antioxidants category – 3 day serums, 1 gel and 1 night serum. The day serums are C E Ferulic, Phloretin CF, Phloretin CF Gel and Serum 10, while the night serum is the Resveratrol B E. The different antioxidant serums are catered for different skin types and needs based on the ingredients that they are formulated with.

Each of these antioxidants from SkinCeuticals have been proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and improve skin laxity, and by neutralizing free radicals and stimulating collagen production. If you have not read my previous blog post sharing about why antioxidants are so important, please click here to find out!

Right now I am using the Serum 10 as my day prevention serum. It combines 10% L-ascorbic acid (also known as pure Vitamin C) with Ferulic Acid to provide antioxidant and anti-aging benefits.

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, through neutralising free radicals this defending against environmental damage
  • Deliver pure Vitamin C to the skin in concentrations shown to be effective for skin healing
  • Provide protection against premature skin aging effects
  • If you’re a first time user of antioxidant treatments, the Serum 10 would make an excellent product to try because of its lower concentration of Vitamin C.

*For more details please visit: http://www.skinceuticals.sg/Antioxidants/Serum-10/

For night use I am using Resveratrol B E for repair. This is a concentrated night time antioxidant with pure resveratrol to reveal visible radiance and firmness the next morning.

  • Neutralize free radicals and strengthens skin’s natural antioxidant defenses,
  • Diminish visible signs of aging,
  • For those with normal, dry, combination or sensitive skin, this product is great for you!

*For more details please visit: http://www.skinceuticals.sg/Antioxidants/Resveratrol-B-E/

My daily regimen in the day
1. CLEANSE & TONE.
2. PREVENT WITH Serum 10 (protective antioxidant).
3. CORRECT (hydration serum).
4. MOISTURIZE (moisturizer).
5. PROTECT (sunblock).

In the morning after cleansing, apply 4-5 drops to a dry face, neck and chest. I complete my skincare regimen with a SkinCeuticals sunscreen. When used together, SkinCeuticals antioxidants and sunscreens provide the most complete protection against visible aging caused by environmental aggressors
such as pollution and the sun’s harmful rays.

The Serum 10 has a watery consistency which is light and fast-absorbent for day use. Use it after cleansing and before thicker serums and/or moisturizer then finally top with a sunscreen for total protection. The Serum 10 has a slight coffee scent to it, totally perks me up in the mornings.

Did you know? Anything that emits light and/or heat gives off UV rays and radiation (I didn't!!)? I've shared this in my last post before but have to share it again b'cuz I think it's something not alot of us are aware of! In short, it means that its essential to protect your skin even though you are largely indoors and even at night. I bet most of you didn't know that right?

My daily regimen at night
1. CLEANSE & TONE.

2. PREVENT WITH Resveratrol B E (repairing antioxidant).
3. CORRECT (hydration serum).

3.1. CO
RRECT (pigmentation corrector).
4. MOISTURIZE (moisturizer).

In the evening after cleansing, apply 2-3 pumps to a dry face, neck and chest. The Resveratrol B E helps repair my skin at night and prevent accumulated damage, letting me wake up with firm and radiant skin.

The Resveratrol B E antioxidant night concentrate is thicker compared to the Serum 10 and has a gel-like texture. The scent is really light and slightly citrusy which is calming to use and again very fast absorbent. After cleansing I use this night antioxidant followed by my hydration serum and a moisturiser, my skin feels well hydrated and supple, all ready for the night. When I get up from bed, my skin still feels supple without being oily and that's something I really like about.

I've been using skincare products from SkinCeuticals for months now and my experience with them has been great so far! Everything just feels so luxurious when applied to my face and I feel so pampered with every use. Definitely looking forward to greater skin with SkinCeuticals! Do stay tuned for more reviews on other popular skincare products from SkinCeuticals.

Beauty Review_Latest Hairline Embroidery Review By Arch Angel Brow

Hi Hi! I'm back with my 2nd review for Arch Angel Brow. This time I'm reviewing one of the latest trends in semi-permanent makeup that I've never tried before. Hairline Embroidery is something really new. I think it has probably only been made available in Singapore only this year or at least getting more popular only recently. When I first found out about this new beauty service I got really excited because I've always had a high forehead and while it is supposed to be nice, all the baby hair I have makes my hairline seem higher than how I'd like it to be. I wanted to get it done immediately even though the reviews seems scarce, but I thought why not since it isn't permanent and I could share with all of you. So let's check it out!

This is already the Chio (aka gorgeous) me after the Hairline Embroidery and my touch up for my Korean Combo Eyebrow Embroidery. Got Chio right? Hahahahaha. Let's see my before and after pics below!

As with all other semi-permanent makeup procedures, the beauty expert will first assess your 'problem area' and discuss with her customers how he/she wants to have the embroidery done. In this case Kelly (also the lady who did my beautiful brows) shared how the embroidery will likely turn out on my hairline before proceeding with the actual procedure.

After we have confirmed the design and colour, numbing cream was applied to my hairline for about 15 minutes. I was then taken to the treatment room for the procedure. To my surprise, the procedure took lesser time to complete as compared to eyebrow embroidery. I thought since the surface area is bigger, it would probably take a longer time. The entire procedure took about 30 minutes or less and pain was minimal. I only felt it when the numbing cream started to wear off during the treatment. I just had to inform Kelly about the pain and she'd add on more numbing cream for me. I would rate the pain factor 3/10?

So here's a picture of me before and after the hairline embroidery. Am super in love with my new hairline!!
It makes me look so much younger and fresher! What do you think?

Well, because it is a stroke-by-stroke type of embroidery, you would be able to see lines that mimic the appearance of real hair on the head. My hairline embroidery was done on the topmost portion of my forehead. If you have problems on the sides of your hairline, you can get it covered as well. Click here to see pictures.

If you think the lines look really defined, it's because you're seeing a close-up shot. The colour of the embroidery is darker too since it is newly done but the colour will definitely fade off to a natural colour to blend into the hairline along with your own hair. I am super stoked just having 'more hair' already!! Yays! I'm sure those of you who have similar hair problems like mine will be able to understand how I feel. You have to try this!!

Selfie time! Because I feel so gorgeous and young I just had to take more photos to show you guys!

The downtime is 1 week and you have to avoid washing your hair or at least your hairline during this period. I got some sterile saline solution from the pharmacy and used it to cleanse my hairline day and night. Just pour onto a cotton pad and dab onto the embroidered areas to clean. You may follow up by applying some post-treatment gel on the areas to help keep the skin moisturised.

This is optional and can be purchased at the outlet but totally recommended to help ensure the colour lasts. I used it since my Korean Combo Eyebrow Embroidery and am still using now for my touch up as well as my hairline embroidery. A small bottle goes a long way because you just need a thin layer after every wash.

So here's the friendly & pretty beauty expert who does all my semi-permanent makeup. Thanks Kelly, for your professional service and making me beautiful again. Oh did you read my last review on the Korean Combo Eyebrow Embroidery? She totally saved my imbalanced brows. Click here to check it out!

I am (again) very very happy with my brows, my new hairline, the services and skills of Kelly and I HIGHLY recommend her. I would say by far she's the best Semi-permanent Specialist I've met and she definitely lives up to my expectations. She's pretty and really professional at what she does, so thumbs up!

I hope you liked my beauty review. Do feel free to leave comments in the comment box below if you have any question/s regarding the topic and I'll try my best to answer them if it's not already stated in my blog above. And that's all for today, bye~!

*Updates: It is day 4 post-treatment and everything still looks great and I'm still very in love with my embroidery. It is not as difficult to take care of the hairline during this period as I thought. Initially I thought it's gonna be like my confinement where I can't wash my hair at all. Then after 2 days I washed my hair from the back and avoided my hairline area. It's better than nothing!! LOL. Desperate times call for desperate measures. But one thing to note, because my hairline is recovering, it is starting to get itchy. Please please do remember to keep your fingers off and NO scratching!! This is probably the hardest part of getting a nice new hairline. But I have no complaints and I'm looking forward to the end of this week. Bye bye for now!

Promo Update!
The first 20 readers to quote "Vanny" when booking an appointment for Hairline Embroidery will be entitled to $100 off the usual price (U.P. starts from S$680 depending on size of area).
First come first served only! ; )
