Hello~ To those of you who do not know me,
this was how I looked before getting this hairdo....

Hehe, and this is the preview of my new hairdo.
Love the New Look! Thanks Charles! :D
(Creative Director @ Headlines Hair Dressing)

Through my teegnage years, I grew up through the evolution of Hair Rebonding - I'm sure many of you are farmiliar with and definitely at least done it once in your lifetime. I have had rebonded hair for at least a third of my life because it was just the best thing during my time to achieve silky straight hair. Well, I am not a fan of stark-straight hair but still i did it to get frizz-free hair.

Let me give you a quick guide to Hair Rebonding vs Brazilian Blowout vs Mucota DYNA.
Rebonding Pros:
1. This makes your hair appear sleek and shiny and less/no frizz.
2. Easy maintanence with straight hair.
3. No more hair ironing!
4. Lasts for 6-8 months.

Rebonding Cons:
1. During the process of getting this chemical treatment, do be aware of the tons of heat your hair has to take - In these instances, the more rebonding treatments that you go to, the greater the possibility that your hair would just turn out getting damaged.
2. Since this is a chemical treated process, hair shafts are weaker and breaks more easily.
3. As a result of loading on high temperatures for the duration of process, your locks might end up falling off. Many females have reported hair loss as a huge complication of this process.
4. Strong chemical smell for first week.
5. Need to refrain from washing hair for the first 2-3 days (same as rebonding).
6. SUPER FLAT HAIR - volumeless;  need I say more?

I haven't had rebonded hair for almost 6 years 'cuz I've moved on to permed style and followed by Bob & Pixie hair cut (as shown in my previous blog - http://vannytelly.blogspot.sg/2014/03/salon-vim-313-somerset.html). Recently I've grew out my Pixie hair and thus started looking around for anti-frizz solutions.

Last year I found this new treatment (yea I thought it was a non-chemical treatment); Brazilian Blowout (aka Keratin Treatment). It was something similar to rebonding, but is said that its chemical-free and boasts the effects of silk-straight hair without the harmful chemicals.

Brazilian Blowout Pros:
1. Smooths & straightens hair
2. Gives you versatality in hair styling as it is not structured into a pin-straight shape like rebonding.
3. Gentler on the hair.
4. Managaeble hair.

Brazilian Blowout Cons:
1. Costly (usually costs about $250-500 in Singapore, depends on hair length & salon)
2. As I mentioned above, I thought it was chemical free because most salons advertise as "Formaldehyde Free", but I was later told that this is exactly what is in the cream that makes the hair straight - so it makes a harmful process to hair all over again and may cause allergy reactions to sensity skin.
3. One of the steps in the process requires high heat hair-blowing of your hair thats coated in a layer of cream (chemical), harmful to hair and "smoke" from the high-heat blowing causes eye irritation.
4. Strong chemical smell for first week.
5. Need to refrain from washing hair for the first 2-3 days (same as rebonding).
6. Special sulphate free shampoo & conditioner have to be used after treatments to make it last longer
7. Lasts 2-3 months only.

I did Brazilian Blowout 3 times since last year and each time it only lasts me for 1-2 months even though I use the recommended shampoo & condition as a maintanence step post-treatment. The effect was quite good I would say, very smooth and straight but then I didn't like the fact that it doesn't last - this means more trips to the salon and more $$$!! Also, the chemical smoke getting into my eyes during treatment was a dread, I had to close my eyes through that particular step 'cuz they hurt like mad I'll start tearing (not kidding).

So this time when my hair was due for treatment, I went to do some research for new anti-frizz remedies and stumbled upon Headlines Hair Dressing's Mucota DYNA Hair Treatment. After looking through the "Before & After" pictures posted by some of their customers, I decided to give it a try.

A quick introduction to Mucota DYNA Treatment:
DYNA is an Argan Oil treatment that provides smooth and silky hair up to 3-4 months.

Benefits Of ARGAN OIL:
- Rich in vitamin E which restores life to limp hair
- Contains unsaturated fatty acids like Omega 3 and 6 that provides nutrition to the hair
- Contains linoleic acid and oleic which helps to hydrate and MOISTURIZE hair
- Unlike other OILS, argan is non-greasy and non-oily
- Keeps colored hair more lasting and prevents dryness
- Easily absorbed by the hair and restores hair’s lost MOISTURE
- Shields hair from harmful UV rays and protects hair from enviromental pollution
- Enhances the elasticity of the hair
- Improves strength of hair and HEALS split ends of hair

Hokay, enough said. First have a look at my very very untidy and discoloured hair, remember how it looks.... I'll assure you will agree with the drastic great results later at the end. *excited* Here's how its done ;)

Pardon My Unruly Hair.

Step 1: After hair wash, application of DYNA 1 (CAT) cream.
DYNA CAT targets curly/coloured hair to give a soft & natural finish.

Step 2: Rinse & Blow Dry

Step 3: Iron away the Frizzzzz

Super Straight Ironed Hair.
And Step 4 comes after this: to apply DYNA 2 (After Cream)

Here you can see the DYNA CAT & DYNA After Cream

Got a trim & a new set of bangs - almost done.

Let's take a look again at the "Before" picture:

Ta-Dah~~~ AFTER!
How? How? You like it? I definitely did! And still do! Im writing this review after exactly a week, hair feels soft and natural. Definitely better than Keratin treatment and best part, no need for additional purchase of shampoo & conditioner! Of course I will continue to observe how long it lasts for me - I say this because everyone's hair condition is not the same so it will surely last different period of time for everyone.

Here's a quick overview of DYNA vs Keratin Treatment

8th May was Vicki&Meg's official launch event held at their office. I was an excited invitee that had first-time attended an event in an office-warehouse-kinda place. Pretty cool spot I would say.

Upon arrival, a door gift was received and we were each given a piece of "order form", accompanied by a colored pencil for instant purchases. The event layout was cosy and jewelry were stylishly presented all over the space, all the ladies busy with shopping. Lol.

Bag hangers-in-mesh-bag as door gifts.

My First Ever Tattoo - 26th Year of My Life

There were a few times in life where I thought about getting inked, but never did.

#1. During my secondary school days - the time where everyone wanted to look & be cool. Ended up, I got myself piercings instead 'cuz they're much easier/convenient to remove so I thought was a better choice.

#2. Still during secondary school after I already had gone into different types of piercing - was just a day where I accompanied a school mate to get a tattoo. We were supposed to get one together and I ended up choosing till the shop had to close. Case closed, my friend got a little mad for feeling stood up after she got her chinese initial on her middle finger.

#3. 16 - An acquaintance who wanted to be a full sponsor for my ink if he won a soccer bet. Nope, didn't win, didn't get inked.

Okay, let's just cut this short... I could go on about the list of events that I would have but could have not.... (lol)
*
*
*
I finally decided to get one when I was 26.. (merely last year)... There has been a few placements which I super like..
*
my first tattoo
1) The Wrist - My Brother has his name on his left wrist, I simply love that placement. I've been wanting to get one on the insides of the wrist since I was a kid. I find it such an "intimate" area to have names of special ones.. I would have gone with my name (I love my name btw) or "hevinvan" (stands for my Dad, Bro, Me) + a little infinity symbol.
 *
my first tattoo
2) This one was favored in the recent years. I like the meaning of it - to me, its a reminder to keep breathing and not worry about things (too much). I used to have bad anxiety & depression problems, breathing actually really helps.
 *
3) Cross on finger - I love the cross symbol, and I love tiny/delicate tattoos. Its a tough symbol yet feminine. And its a symbol of my religion.
 *
4) This one caught my eye instantly - the details... heart + le (meaning "smile" in Swedish). <3 p="">
*

5) Love the middle (spine) placement. What caught me was the words on the side.....
"A beautiful life does not just happen, it is built daily by prayer, humility, sacrifice and love. May that beautiful life be yours always"..... How beautiful?
*
 5) (Placement) - need I say more? Sexy as hell.
*
(same as the above) This one belongs to Miley.

*
*
*
*
*
And Ta-Dahhhhh.. Mine. It says "Just Breathe".. Decided on this placement 'cuz its sexy, and its the area of our lung so it matches well with the meaning of the tattoo. (And I wanted something small for starters) This photo was taken right after the inking session. The whole session was fast.
1. Tattoo artist shows you the actual art on a paper (to be transferred) onto your skin.
2. After approving of the art, it is being transferred onto the placement you choose.
3. Inking begins. Thats about it..... Its fast, and definitely theres pain (but bearable). I would say, a 4/5 when the needle was dragged thru the rib area. Yes, it is true boney areas hurt more.

#instainked

One day, after I get married.. I would love to have a nice matching art with my other half.
How sweet. <3 :="" p="">

**
For now, hmmmmmm....... thinking of my next body art. :P
