Hello Ladies! I'm back for more beauty reviews (as usual).. and this time about Eyelash Extensions (again, hahaha).. Why do I say again and laugh about it is because if you did follow my previous blog posts on Eyelash Extensions, you would have known that I'm not a regular user of them and I would say more like a newbie when it comes to lash extensions. I didn't use to get my lashes done regularly because I have the same concerns that generally ladies would have before getting started; (1) worries about my own eyelashes falling off due to long-term usage of eyelash extensions, (2) getting too used to the look that i'll feel weird without them, (3) just being expensive to keep maintaining. Ever since I found Kim from Lash & Co. Studio, my mind set has changed and infact I now want to do up my lashes on a long-term basis.. Let me share why later, first let me show you some impressive lash pics!
This was me on the day of my first Eyelash Extension session with Kim. She did for me a type of volume lash using the softest range of lashes which is full and fluttery yet still looks really natural. I'm not sure if you understand what I just described b'cuz it may sound contradicting, but for reals... it's soooo pretty! And yes, soft!! It's so soft I can't feel anything on my eyelids even though they're full and long. |
Showing you more angles of my lashes before and after.. I used to have naturally long lashes that's why I didn't really thought I needed any extensions. But ever since I gave birth to my older girl, my lashes seemed to have shorten slightly and tends to be uneven now. You can see the top left picture where my lashes seemed to be of uneven length and the inner corners of my lashes alot shorter. With the unevenness, it's not as nice when I apply mascara on them - sad. : ( But having Eyelash Extensions is so awesome, won't have to worry about that and no need for anymore eye makeup - that's actually the best part of it all! Hahaha! |
This is Kim's humble & cosy workplace which is themed in sassy purple. Lash & Co. Studio is located on the 4th floor of Midpoint Orchard and was easy to locate (just across of 313 Somerset). I actually knew about Kim b'cuz one of my pageant sisters was a regular customer of Lash & Co. Studio and a friend of Kim. And during the pageant days, a few of us noticed how beautiful her lashes were and we asked about them. Couple days later, a few of my other pageant sisters went to try out Kim's services and came back really happy and started raving about their new set of lashes. My pageant BFF, Adeline, was one of the first to flock to Lash & Co. Studio and she totally recommended going to Kim b'cuz she's a regular user of Eyelash Extensions and even tried those popular places who had famous bloggers review on them (if you'd like to know, pls PM me), she told us that Kim's work is actually better, eyelashes used were softer and more comfortable, and best part was that prices were alot cheaper than other named parlors. How are you not sold after hearing that, plus seeing the beautiful works... There and then that got me interested to try. Hahaha.. I'm not usually easily influenced k! : P |
Okay, so a quick selfie of myself before starting.. just to document how I look to show a before and after. I look damn blur here - LOL. It was 9:30am in the morning and I was in the heart of Orchard, plus w/o makeup.. of 'cuz I look like that.. |
Before we actually started with the actual works, Kim gave me a consultation to find out what was it exactly I wanted to achieve and also showed me the types of lashes she had at Lash & Co. Studio to help give me an idea of what I may like. Besides that, she also explained the styles and designs of the volume lashes and what kind of effects each of the styles would create. She really puts in effort to find out what her customer wants and tries to provide more info so that it would help her customers decide better. That's one thing I liked about her. |
My lashes were cleansed after the few strands of "old" extensions were removed, so that she could effectively apply new ones to my lashes. The whole process was comfortable and took about 2-3 hours, from the time of the consultation, removal of old extensions, to finishing up my new set of Eyelash Extensions. Was a long one but I would say its definitely worth the wait. Kim is really meticulous and therefore it takes abit of time for her to perfect her work. |
Just a photo recap of my own lashes... |
Still my uneven lashes.... |
Its not very obvious from this picture but if you notice, my lashes are grown like on several lash lines. Like some on top and some on the regular lash line itself.. Kim was the one who told me that, and its b'cuz of my uneven growth of eyelashes that makes it difficult for her to work on. And she advises that with long-term usage of Eyelash Extensions, she could help me get my lashes back in shape. Meaning to have them grow out new lashes and forming a better shape - that's something I'm excited for as well. |
After almost 3 hours of waiting and lying down.. Tadahhhh~~ So full and nice.. It looks heavy from this angle but the lashes are actually very soft and fine which makes it really fluttery. |
Kim got me the volume lash in Gorgeous style, which is supposed to be a mixture of short and long lashes to create an even fan throughout. I really love this look 'cuz its long and obvious w/o being OTT.. Super love!! |
After the session was over, Kim passed me some post-care "necessities" which included a bottle of eye-makeup remover and is delicate for the eye area as well as to the Eyelash Extensions, with several brushes each with different purposes: > The tiny and rounded-tip one is for use when my eyelid itches, so I can use that little blue brush/stick to "scratch" instead of using my fingers to prevent damaging my lashes. > Stick with a sponge applicator is for the use of eye-makeup removal (will show also in next photo). > And some regular brow brushes which are used for combing lashes after bath or whenever my lashes become messy or unruly. |
So Kim was doing a demo on how to apply the eye-makeup remover when I have Eyelash Extensions on: 1. First to pump some of the eye-makeup remover onto clean hand, 2. Take the sponge-tip applicator and dab/pick up the remover solution, 3. Gently remove eye makeup using the applicator. |
Found myself a good spot with natural lighting while having lunch after that.. Selfie time! Got pretty or not? Hahahaha.. I think the Eyelash Extensions really make me look chio, agree or not? LOLs!!! : P
The extensions are full and yet not super dark that makes me look fierce 'cuz the tips/strands of the lashes are finer than the traditional volume lashes. This is great 'cuz you really can amp up the extensions to achieve fluttery lashes w/o them being too fierce-looking.

Anyways back to the topic I started at the beginning of this post, the concerns that generally ladies would have before getting started; (1) worries about my own eyelashes falling off due to long-term usage of eyelash extensions, (2) getting too used to the look that i'll feel weird without them, (3) just being expensive to keep maintaining. After chatting and finding out more from Kim, she helped to debunk all those concerns..
1. This shouldn't be a problem so long as your eyelash technician does a good job and not hurt your real eyelashes. She even explained that actually with a good eyelash technician, your eyelash condition would infact improve over time. She shared this with me b'cuz she's got customers who actually had fuller (real) lashes over time b'cuz they were healthier and grew out fuller.
2. Erm, this one is really just on myself to blame lah.. I think if i'm scared I'll look less pretty w/o it, then just continue the maintenance lor... duh. Since now that I know my own lashes will not be harmed over time and with proper care, why not right? I can look good all the time.. I told my Hubby, this time I'll look chio in my delivery photos.. Hahaha.. No more shag face. *Yays!
3. Prices at Lash & Co. Studio are really really alot more affordable compared to the other named eyelash parlous. With a wide range and types of lashes and designs to choose from, you will surely find something suitable to your liking and budget. My pageant sisters got a shock at first finding out the price list at Kim's... Haha.. But that's good for us isn't it? ; )
So that's all for today and I'll be posting up another review to follow-up on my lash growth and all, hoping for them to grow out fuller and stronger over time - so stay tuned! I hope you liked my review for the day and do feel free to leave comments in the comment box below if you have any question/s regarding the topic and I'll try my best to answer them if it's not already stated in my blog above. And that's all for today, bye~! ; )
