Themed Cafes in Taipei - Hello Kitty Sweets

Themed Cafes seem to be in the trend in Taiwan these days. Been to two of them during my recent trip to Taipei and Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe being one of them; a must-visit if you are a Kitty fan! Or even for non Kitty fans like myself, I'm sure you will find the place and foods there instagram-worthy. ; )

From far away, Mom & I quickly spotted the pink little cafe.

As we entered the cafe, we were greeted by a display of cakes & pastries.

If you're a fan and if your birthday is around the corner, come by and throw a small celebration with their mini HK whole cakes. Pretty!

On the left, the dimly lit space seems good for a first date.

Passing through to the staircase leading to the second floor, was the kitchen & service area. Pink & Kitty-fied!

On the upper floor you will find these cutesy pink bow sofa seats which are oh-so Kawaii. Space is alot brighter upstairs and better for photo-taking.

It was a weekday noon and we got there slightly earlier than lunch time, there was no waiting time... But be sure to arrive early otherwise you'd have to end up queing.

After Mom & I were brought to our booth seats, we were presented with Hello Kitty menus.

We each ordered a main course set meal. Each set meal came with a soup & bread, beverage, and a small slice of cake. Look at the Kitty-stamped bread, ha!

My Mom's Order - Beef Baked Cheesy Rice. I would give this a moderate rating as it tasted just like any other baked rice, only some extra points for the cute presentation. And in case if you're wondering what that square Kitty food is, its egg. And by the way, the egg is yummy hor. Its really soft and fragrant, kinda like the texture of an omelette. Try and you'd know what I mean.

And mine - Beef Patty & Stew Rice. This is Deli! The beef meat was tender to chew and there was melted cheese in the middle of the fat & juicy looking beef patty. Definitely something I wound't mind ordering again. I finished the whole plate wo the rice and was super full. Portion size was rather generous. *burps* : O

Say cheese...... Oh yea, by the way there's free wifi provided at the cafe.

About this.... My Mom kept asking me to take photos of the Kitty-shaped carrots. Haha.. I guess this could be a way to make your kids take their veggies?

We were entitled to one beverage for every set meal, but of course was only applicable to basic drinks that did not have any Kitty decor on them. I topped up a little for a shake with some toppings just to snap photos to show you guys.

This is what you do when you have a pretty drink - Selfie!

The basic drink vs an upgraded drink. They both tasted almost similar. Obviously you are paying more just for the toppings.

And this was the little cake that came with our set meal. Nothing fantastic. I really wanted to order at least a cake/dessert to share, so I could take photos and show you guys, but was really too full after the meal & drink. Maybe next time then. : (

Paid a visit to the washroom before heading off.

And even the taps were Kitty printed.
I think this is a place true heaven Hello Kitty fans. : P
Our total bill came up to approx NT$1300 (equivalent to SGD$58). It was pricey compared to local food there, but almost like those cafes in Singapore. So for a one-time visit to try out, I think its pretty worth it.

Hello Kitty Sweets Cafe is located nearest to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station (if you would like to travel by train there), and is 5-10 minutes walked away. Not difficult to locate, I merely asked for directions and we got there quickly.
